Bouchardering
Bouchardering is a technique that was particularly used in the past for roughening barn floors. When bouchardering a stable or concrete floor, a bouchard machine is used to tap on the floor, causing pieces of concrete to chip off and creating an uneven surface. This process also leads to a lot of noise and dust nuisance. Nowadays, bouchardering is hardly ever done anymore. This is partly to minimize noise and dust pollution, and partly because your stable or concrete floor remains rougher for a longer time when grooves are ground into it using diamond grinding techniques. For floors where grooves are not desired, there are various other techniques and options available. You might think of concrete grinding, which creates light scratches in the top layer, resulting in an uneven, rough, or anti-slip surface. Interested? Please feel free to contact us for more options.
